I am Michael Rice. I am the founder of Follow the Teachings of Jesus Ministry. I have never experienced real hunger in my life. Oh, I have experienced the type of hunger one gets when being lazy sleeps through breakfast or when momma is late preparing dinner, but only having food for one or perhaps no meals for the day, no never. Most of my life like most people I didn't concern myself with real hunger or starvation. Most of my life I lived in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California. Most of the people were Wasps (White Anglo Saxon Protestants). I didn't see much real hunger until I moved to East Texas where people are divided according to the color of their skin, their income, their religion, their occupation or lack thereof, their sexual preferences and where they lived. It is here that I realized that hunger in body and spirit has no clock and no calendar on the wall. It is here that I heard a voice as one calling in the desert to follow the teachings of Jesus and do all I could fight the hunger in body and spirit of all my neighbors in need.
